BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene matched Harding hit for hit in a Sunday doubleheader, but it was Harding who came out on top with a sweep.
Â
The Bisons (18-8, 10-4 GAC) took the opening game 3-0 before holding off the Crimson Storm (7-15, 2-12 GAC) in the final inning in the nightcap to win 3-2.
Â
In the opener, Harding broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third with a single to left to lead 1-0 and added another in the fourth on a sacrifice bunt to lead 2-0. The Bisons added another insurance run in the sixth to lead 3-0 and sat on that lead in the seventh.
Â
All of SNU's hits came from different players as
Kayla Wyatt (4-6) gave up just five hits as well. The senior struck out seven and allowed three runs in six innings of work.
Â
The Bisons took the first lead of the nightcap as well as they got one in the bottom of the third to lead 1-0. Harding added two more unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. Southern Nazarene answered in the top of the seventh when
Sam Smith belted her sixth home run of the year to cut it to 3-2. That was as close as the Storm came though.
Â
Hannah LeBeau went 2-for-3 to lead the way for SNU.
Katelyn Brown (3-7) took the loss after giving up three runs, none of which were earned, on seven hits in the complete game.Â
