ODESSA, Texas — Texas – Permian Basin hit a walk-off single with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to sweep a doubleheader from Southern Nazarene, 5-0 and 6-5.

In the opener, the Crimson Storm (0-2) bats never woke up. SNU accumulated just two hits and got just one man into scoring position.
Gaige Webster and
Ryan Tucker each went 1-for-2 with singles, while Webster was hit by a pitch in the first and Mike Descisciolo drew a walk in the fifth.

Jacob Spruill (0-1) started the game for SNU and held the Falcons to just two hits through the first three innings. UTPB broke through in the fourth, as it scored three runs on three hits during the frame. Permian Basin added a run in each of the next two frames to seal the game.

In the second game, the SNU offense woke up with two runs in the top of the first inning. After the first two batters were retired,
Shelby Reese singled before
Tyler Stevens was hit by a pitch.
Anthony Wiggins then ripped a triple to right-center to score both Reese and Stevens.

The Falcons struck back in the fifth inning as they advantage of three hits and two SNU errors to push five runs across during the frame.

Southern Nazarene began chipping away at the lead with a run in the third that came on a Wiggins single to left that scored

Jefferson Harris drove home
Caleb Teel with a sacrifice fly to center to bring the Storm within one at 5-4 in the fourth. Teel and Harris combined for the next SNU run as well, as Harris ripped a double down the left field line to score Teel from second to tie the game. Permian Basin though drew three walks in the seventh, and has the bases loaded with two outs, when Daniel Andrade delivered the walk-off hit to win the game for the Falcons.

Austin Cooper started game two for Southern Nazarene as he gave up five runs, four earned, and struck out two in 4.1 innings of work. Mike Descisciolo (0-1) took the loss as he recorded the final two outs before surrendering the game-winning hit.
Reese finished 3-for-4 with a run scored while Wiggins went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.Â
