MONTICELLO, Ark. — For the second straight day, Southern Nazarene came up just short as it fell in both games of a doubleheader with Arkansas-Monticello by one run.

The Storm (5-7, 0-4 GAC) lost the opener 2-1 before falling 3-2 in the second game.

In the opener, SNU outhit the Cotton Blossoms 6-2, but left five runners on base.
Hannah LeBeau went 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Kayla Wyatt (2-3) gave up just two runs on two hits and struck out 10, but walked four in six innings of work.

Monticello took the first lead of the game in the bottom of the first, but LeBeau tied it with a single up the middle to score
Kendal Stockstill. The Blossoms though pushed the winning run across the plate in the sixth with a double steal.

In the nightcap, the Storm again out hit the Blossoms, 9-2, and left nine one base.
Katelyn Brown (3-3) gave up just three runs, only two of which were earned, on two hits and struck out four in six innings. She also walked four.

Sam Smith hit her third home of the year as she went 3-for-4 with two RBIS and a run scored.

Monticello took a1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before Smith tied it in the third with a solo shot to left field. UAM answered in the bottom half of the inning with two more to lead 3-1. Smith drove in her second run of the game in the fourth with a double to left center, but that was as close as SNU came. The Storm had the bases loaded in the sixth with two outs, but the Blossoms were able to escape.
