BETHANY, Okla. — Untimely errors were the story of the day for Southern Nazarene as it dropped a doubleheader to Arkansas-Monticello 19-10 and 8-2.

In game one, the Crimson Storm (1-11, 1-2 GAC) fell behind early thanks to three errors in the first inning. The Boll Weevils scored three runs, all unearned, in the top of the first off just one hit, putting SNU in an early hole.

SNU fought back in the bottom half as
Dillon Feland continued his hot streak at the plate with a double to score
Gaige Webster.
Anthony Wiggins followed with an RBI single to make the score 3-2.

UAM took over from there, as it scored the next six runs to take a 9-2 lead after three innings. Southern Nazarene made things interesting in the bottom of the fourth as it tacked on two runs on four hits.

The runs kept coming in the fifth as Monticello added six runs in in the top half to make it 15-4. SNU attempted to keep pace as it added four runs during the bottom half plus another run in the sixth. RBI singles from
Shelby Reese and Mike Descisciolo along with an RBI ground out by
Ryan Tucker made it 15-8 after five. Feland followed with the first home run of his career in the sixth to narrow the gap to 15-9.

The Boll Weevils added a run in the top of the seventh plus another two in the eighth to make it 18-9. Wiggins ripped his first home run of the season in the bottom of the eighth to get within eight. UAM added a run in the ninth to get to the final score of 19-10.

Mason Pinion (0-3) got the start in game one and gave up nine runs, six earned, in just two innings of work. The SNU bullpen struggled as well as it gave up 10 runs, all earned, in seven innings of work. Wiggins and Descisciolo each recorded three hits in game one while Feland, Reese, Tucker, and
Tyler Stevens added two hits each.

Errors cost the Crimson Storm in game two as well. Arkansas-Monticello scored three runs in the top of the second, with two coming after a two-out error by SNU. Southern Nazarene fought back in the bottom of the third as Webster singled home
Garrett Perez to make it a 3-1 game.

The floodgates opened in the top of the fifth as UAM scored five runs on three hits and another SNU error to push the lead to 8-1. Southern Nazarene chipped in a run as Descisciolo led off the bottom of the frame with his first home run of the season to get to what would be the final score of 8-2.

Wiggins started game two on the mound for SNU and gave up five runs, three earned, on five hits and four walks in 4.1 innings.
Austin Cooper pitched 2.2 innings of relief and gave up three runs, all unearned, while striking out three. Reese, Wiggins, and Perez each went 2-for-3 in game two, while Perez added a stolen base.
