No No for No. 300

Webber gets 300th victory on a no-hitter

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Valentine's Day may not be until Sunday, but Southern Nazarene gave its head coach an early gift with a pair of wins to give Tere Webber her 300th career win.

The Crimson Storm (5-3) notched a 5-2 win over Pittsburg State in the first game of the day and then got a no-hitter in a 9-0 run-rule over Southwest Baptist.

Webber got win 299 in a big win over Pitt State as Kayla Wyatt (2-1) was nearly lights out for the Storm. The senior struck out a season-high 15 and gave up just two runs on three hits in seven innings of work.

Syndni Toilolo hit her second home run of the year as she had one of SNU's five hits. After goose eggs through the first four innings, the Storm broke loose in the top of the fifth. Sam Smith drove in the first two runs of the inning with a single to left field to score Kylie Palmer and Hope Martin. In the next at bat Toilolo ripped a shot to left to put three more on the board and put SNU up 5-0.

The Gorillas (7-2) added two more in the bottom of sixth, but Wyatt shut the door to notch her second win of the year.

In the nightcap, SNU got out and running in a hurry with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. The first came on a Jill Clemence single through the left side before Toilolo launched her third home run of the year to give SNU a 3-0 lead. Katelyn Brown drove in the final two runs of the inning on a short fly to center.

The Storm pushed it to 9-0 with four in the bottom of the second. Hannah LeBeau drove in the first run on a ground out before Martin drilled a double to left center to drive in two more. Allie Baird drove in the final run of the inning on a single up the middle.

Brown (3-1) tossed the no-hitter as she walked just one and struck out six. The Storm as a team had two errors. Kyndall Freer-Christopher led the way at the plate going 2-for-2.
