Storm win fourth straight

BETHANY, Okla. — The streak moves to four now for Southern Nazarene as it wrapped up its non-conference schedule with an 85-74 win over Central Oklahoma.
 
Darryl Gaynor II had an impressive debut with 19 points off of the bench as the junior went 8-for-12 from the field. C.J. White notched his third double-double of the year with a season-high 17 points and 13 rebounds. The senior also had five assists and was 7-for-14 from the floor. Freshman Jhonathan Dunn added 15 points and had four rebounds and shot 6-for-8 from the field. Deshon Portley also chipped in with 12 points and three assists.
 
The Storm (6-4) shot 55.4 percent from the field and went 6-for-14 from 3-point range. SNU was also 17-for-23 at the line. Despite giving up 16 turnovers and forcing the Bronchos (7-3) into 13, SNU was still able to get 23 points off of turnovers. The Storm also held the UCO bench to just two points while SNU's reserves accounted for 31. SNU also had 11 offensive rebounds for 14 second-chance points.
 
Central Oklahoma held a 14-12 lead early in the first half, but Darryl Gaynor's first basket of the year was a 3-pointer to start a 9-0 run for the Storm as they took a 21-14  lead with 10:24 left in the first. SNU led 24-17 when the Bronchos used an 18-6 run to take a 35-30 lead and led 35-32 at the half.

UCO pushed the lead to 37-32 to start the second half, but the Storm answered with a 25-9 run to take a 57-46 lead with 11:04 left. SNU led 59-48 when the Bronchos closed it to 63-59 with an 11-4 run with 7:56 remaining.  SNU led 73-69 with 3:52 when a Portley trey started a 12-5 run to put the game on ice.
