ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Three players scored in double figures in Southern Nazarene's first Great American Conference win of the season in a 61-58 victory at Ouachita Saturday afternoon.

LB Willis,
Noah Starkey and
C.J. White combined for 43 points and 17 rebounds for the Crimson Storm (2-2, 1-1 GAC). Willis scored a game-high 16 points and added two rebounds, two assists and a steal. He went 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. He was also 4-for-5 from the free-throw line. Starkey had 15 points and five rebounds as he was 6-for-7 from the floor and 3-for-4 at the line. He also had the second most blocks in a single game in school history with a career-high five. White notched his first double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 10 rebounds.

SNU as a team shot 40.4 percent from the field and needed all 28 points in the paint it scored as it was just 2-for-15 from 3-point range. The Storm were also 17-for-22 at the line. Southern Nazarene gave up just eight points in the paint and held Ouachita to just 29 percent shooting from the field. SNU forced 16 turnovers and had 17 points off those miscues.

The Tigers (1-2, 1-1 GAC) led by as much as 10 in the first half and were up 29-19 with 5:41 left to play in the first. White though started an 8-0 run by the Storm to cut it to 29-27 with 1:03 remaining before Ouachita took a 31-27 lead at the break.

The Storm started the second half with a 19-6 run capped by a Starkey dunk to give SNU a 46-34 lead with 12:24 to play, but Ouachita cut it to 46-42 quickly with eight straight points. The Tigers didn't get inside four until it used a 7-0 run to cut it to 55-53 with 50 seconds to play. SNU though hit four straight free throws and led 59-55 before a Justin McCleary trey cut it to 59-58 with just 15 seconds left.

The Storm got two more free throws from
Jhonathan Dunn to push it to 61-58 and forced a last second miss to seal the game.
