ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — LB Willis scored 19 points for Southern Nazarene, but SNU shot just 39.7 percent in a 76-72 loss at Henderson State in the Great American Conference opener.

The Crimson Storm (1-2, 0-1 GAC) went 25-for-63 from the field and 3-for-17 from 3-point range. SNU also turned the ball over 18 times.

Willis went 5-for-13 from the field and 8-for-10 at the line as he also added five rebounds. C.J. white had 13 points and seven rebounds while
Noah Starkey had his first double-double of the year with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.

The Reddies (2-1, 1-0 GAC) fired 44.6 from the field and drained nine 3-pointers. Henderson also went 9-for-10 from the line. SNU went 19-for-29 at the charity stripe.

Henderson State jumped out to a 23-11 lead early in the first half, its largest lead of the game. The Storm answered with a 14-0 run that was capped by a Willis Dunk as the storm took a 25-23 lead with 6:18 left in the first half. Neither team led by more than four until the Reddies used a 10-3 lead to take a 72-66 lead with 47 seconds left to play and held SNU off from there.
