BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene shot just 34.8 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from 3-point range in a 77-65 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The Crimson Storm (3-8, 2-6 GAC) missed their first 11 shots and 15 of their first 16 from beyond the arc. On the other hand, the Bulldogs went 6-of-10 from long range in the first quarter en route to a 24-17 lead after one quarter of play.

SNU got within three points late in the second quarter, thanks to a 10-2 run sparked by five points from
LaShabra Plunkett. By the end of the first half, SNU was within striking distance, trailing 38-32. The hot shooting from beyond the arc that help the Bulldogs in the first quarter disappeared in the second, as they went 0-of-8 from long rang in the period.

The third quarter proved to be critical, as SNU went cold from the field for the quarter. The Storm were outscored 18-8 in the third as they shot just 3-of-15 from the field and 0-of-3 from long range. By the end of the period, SNU trailed 56-40.

Southern Nazarene attempted to come back during the fourth as it outscored Southwestern 25-21 on the quarter. The Storm shot 50 percent from the field during the period and made 5-of-7 3-point shots, but it ended up being too little too late.

Abby Boyd led the Crimson Storm in scoring on the night as she registered 14 points, with 11 coming in the final frame. Plunkett tallied her first double-double of the season as she finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three blocks and three steals.
Adrienne Berry was the only other SNU player in double-digits scoring, as she finished with 13 points plus five rebounds and two assists.
