RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene took on two of the best in the nation Saturday as SNU fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-18) to No. 6 Central Missouri in the first match of the day before taking a 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 22-25, 25-14) loss to No. 7 Washburn.
Central Missouri hit .327 in the match of the day and held the Crimson Storm (5-7) to a .145 clip.
Courtney Bowie had a team-high eight kills and two blocks while
Makenna Hunter and
Lexie Matthews each had seven kills.
McKenna Qualls had 15 digs as well.
Elyse Berlin totaled 27 assists and had seven digs while
Abbey Bell had nine digs.
The Storm had three team blocks on the day. It was also the first time all year SNU did not have an ace in a match.
Washburn had 10 blocks on the day and hit .259. SNU was held to a .126 clip as Qualls led the way with 10 kills, six digs and two aces. Bowie also had nine kills and two blocks while Hunter had eight kills and a pair of blocks. Berlin finished with 35 assists.
Abbey Bell had 22 digs and
Hannah Davis had 16 to go with an ace.
