WEATHERFORD, Okla. — McKayla Benner had nine kills, hit .318 and had three blocks in a 3-0 (27-25. 25-21, 25-18) loss at Southwestern Oklahoma State.
The Crimson Storm (5-8, 1-1 GAC) hit .088 (35-24-125) and had eight team blocks in the first loss to the Bulldogs (5-4, 2-0 GAC) since the 2012 season. SNU had won the previous four matches before the Tuesday night loss.
McKenna Qualls also had eight kills while
Courtney Bowie had six.
Elyse Berlin had 27 assists and four blocks.
Abbey Bell finished with 16 digs while
Kaitlyn Vought had 11 digs, two aces and a block.
Carly Zak led the way for Southwestern as she had 18 kills, eight digs and two blocks.
There were 14 ties and six lead changes with neither team holding a lead larger than four. The Bulldogs had two set points at 24-23 and 25-24 before it broke a 25-25 tie before two straight kills gave SWOSU a 1-0 lead. The Storm led only once in the second and once in the third as Southwestern gave the Storm it's first GAC loss of the season.
