BETHANY, Okla. — Playing in its final Great American Conference series of the year, Southern Nazarene took a 10-4 loss in the first game of a 3-game series with Ouachita Baptist.
 
The Crimson Storm (9-24, 7-18 GAC) tried to make a run in the seventh inning, but the GAC leading Tigers (21-12, 12-5 GAC) had already built a big enough lead and pulled away late.
 
Ouachita Baptist scored its first two runs of the game both on sacrifice flies. The Tigers got one in the top of the second and one in the fifth to lead 2-0. OBU then added another in the top of the fifth to lead 3-0.
 
The Storm got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Michael Descisciolo hit his fifth home run of the year to make it 3-1. Ouachita though answered with three in the top of the sixth and two in the top of the seventh to lead 8-1. SNU answered though with three in the bottom half of the inning to make it 8-4. Webster drove in the first run of the inning with a doubled down the left field line. Dillon Feland then hit a sac fly to center before Gaige Webster scored on an OBU error.
 
The Tigers though scored two in the top of the eighth and closed the door from there.
 
The top third of the lineup had six of the Storm's 11 hits as both Feland and Dalen Edgar each went 2-for-4. Webster also went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Thomas Schellhardt (1-2) got the start and gave up five runs on 10 hits in 5.2 innings of work in the loss.
