Storm Fall to Cotton Blossoms

SNU had 20 turnovers in its 66-54 loss to Arkansas-Monticello

BETHANY, Okla.— Abby Boyd made a career-high seven three-pointers and scored a season-high 24 points in Southern Nazarene's 66-54 loss to Arkansas-Monticello.
 
Boyd was the leading scorer for the Crimson Storm (6-14, 3-11 GAC) and also had two rebounds and two steals. LaShabra Plunkett scored seven points, grabbed two rebounds, and dished out four assists. Ashleigh Hutchings scored six points and also had three assists. 
 
Southern Nazarene started the game off with a12-0 run to establish an early lead. The Cotton Blossoms (11-8, 9-5 GAC) responded with a 23-18 run to cut the lead to seven points. They outscored the Crimson Storm 11-1 to close out the half.
 
Boyd scored 13 points in the first half. Aminata Fall scored six points, pulled in four rebounds, blocked two shots, and had two steals. Hutchings scored six points and dished out three assists.
 
Southern Nazarene started off the second half with a 13-12 run and led by one at the 12-minute mark. Arkansas-Monticello responded with a 11-8 run to take a two-point lead with five minutes to go. That was the closest that the margin would get for the remainder of the games as the Cotton Blossoms outscored the Crimson Storm 12-2 the rest of the way.
 
Boyd scored 11 points and pulled in one rebound in the second half. Plunkett scored seven points and grabbed two rebounds.
 
Boyd's seven made three-pointers is tied for third in school history for most three-pointers made in a game.
