Storm Fall to Tigers

Southern Nazarene shot 33.8 percent from the floor in its 77-72 overtime loss to Ouachita Baptist

BETHANY, Okla.— Aminata Fall and Ashley Gorman scored 22 points and 15 points respectively on Senior Day in Southern Nazarene's 77-72 overtime loss to Ouachita Baptist.
 
Abby Boyd scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists, and also had two steals. Fall pulled in six rebounds, blocked five shots, and also had four assists. Gorman led the team with eight rebounds and also had two assists and two steals.
 
The Tigers (10-15, 6-12 GAC) started off the game with a 10-3 run to gain an early seven-point lead. They extended their lead to 12 points with a 14-9 run. The Crimson Storm (7-18, 4-15 GAC) cut the deficit with 11 points as they closed out the half on a 10-9 run.
 
Fall scored seven points and had three rebounds in the first half. Boyd scored five points and grabbed two rebounds. Gorman scored four points and pulled in five rebounds.
 
Southern Nazarene started the second half with a 10-4 run to cut the lead to five points. Ouachita Baptist responded with a 12-5 run to extend their lead to 12 points. The Crimson Storm tied the game 51-51 at the 4:16 mark with a 14-2 run. They took the lead twice in the final four minutes. Fall's free two free throws with 10 seconds remaining gave Southern Nazarene a two-point lead. The Tigers made a layup with four seconds remaining to tie the game and send it to overtime.
 
Boyd scored 15 points and dished out three assists in the second half. Fall scored 11 points and also had two rebounds. Gorman scored nine points and pulled two rebounds.
 
In overtime, both teams traded buckets early on in the period. Ouachita Baptist took a 71-69 lead at the 2:52 mark and added to their lead with a three-pointer with 38 seconds left. The Crimson Storm missed three shots in the final two minutes to seal the victory for the Tigers.          
 
Fall scored four points and had one rebound in the overtime period. LaShabra Plunkett scored three points and had one rebound.
