Falling to the Finish

Aminata Fall scored 22 of SNU's 51 points in its 51-49 victory over East Central

ADA, Okla.— Aminata Fall scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Southern Nazarene's 51-49 victory over East Central.
 
LaShabra Plunkett scored ten points, pulled in seven rebounds, and blocked four shots. Abby Boyd scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out four assists, and also had three steals. Katelynn Gorman scored four points and also had four rebounds. Ashley Gorman scored three points, pulled in 11 rebounds, and also had three steals.
 
The Crimson Storm (8-18, 5-15 GAC) gained an early lead with an 8-4 run to start the game. The Tigers (15-11, 11-9 GAC) responded with an 18-7 run to create a seven-point lead with five minutes remaining in the half. Southern Nazarene cut the deficit to one point with an 11-5 run to close out the half.
 
Fall scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the first half. Plunkett scored six points and pulled in two rebounds. A. Gorman scored two points, grabbed six rebounds, and also had two steals.
 
The Crimson Storm retook the lead early in the second half and never surrendered it the rest of the game. They stretched the lead to nine points with an 11-3 run. East Central cut the deficit to one point with a 15-7 run, but Southern Nazarene outscored the Tigers 5-3 the rest of the way to preserve the victory.
 
Fall scored nine points and pulled in seven rebounds in the second half. Boyd scored five points, grabbed two rebounds, and had two steals.
 
Aminata Fall, Ashley Gorman, and Katelynn Gorman all played in their last game for the Crimson Storm. Fall finishes her career with the school records for defensive rebounds with 883, rebounds per game at 10.8, defensive rebounds per game at 8.6, and blocked shots per game at 2.9. She is second in total rebounds with 1,111, second in blocked shots with 300, fifth in offensive rebounds with 228, ninth in free throws made with 290, and 16th in points scored with 1,449.
