BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene got off to a hot start as it completed a Saturday sweep and won its Great American Conference series with a 4-2, 4-1 sweep of Harding.

The Crimson Storm (6-6, 3-1 GAC) got two wins by freshman
Katelyn Brown who went two innings of relief in th first game, allowing just one hit, and went the first five innings in the second game to get the win.

Brown (4-4) faced just eight batters in two innings in the first game and struck out one as SNU battled from being down 2-0. Harding broke a scoreless tie with two in the top of the fifth, but the Storm rallied with two in the bottom half of the inning to tie it at 2-2. The Storm scored the first run on a Harding error before a
Jessica Thompson single scored the second run of the inning.

SNU broke the 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth with another Lady Bison error before
Melissa Padilla gave SNU a 4-2 lead with a single up the middle. Brown then slammed the door shut for the win.
Kayla Wyatt got the start and gave up just two runs, one earned, on seven hits in five innings of work. She also struck out six. All six of SNU's hits came from different players.

In the nightcap, Brown gave up just one run on four hits in five innings of work and struck out four. Wyatt picked up her second save of the day as she threw the final two innings and gave up just hits and struck out one.
Hannah LeBeau went 2-for-3 as well.

SNU jumped out in front first with one run in the bottom of the third when Padilla belted her third home run of the year with a lead off shot to center field. The Storm added two more in the bottom of the fourth when
Sam Smith ripped a two-run home run to center to put SNU up 3-0.

Harding got one run back in the top of the fifth, but SNU added another insurance run in the sixth when
Kyndall Freer-Christopher singled through the left side to score
Alyssa Hughes.
