RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Southern Nazarene was held to just 25 percent shooting from the field as
Garrett Butler and
CJ Rodriguez each scored a team-high nine points in a 66-53 loss at Arkansas Tech.

The Crimson Storm (3-5, 2-2 GAC) dropped their second straight Great American Conference contest as they were held to 5-of-30 shooting from behind the arc. It was the second straight game that SNU was held under 35 percent from the field and under 30 percent from beyond the arc.

The Storm went 17-for-68 from the field, but went 14-for-20 at the free-throw line. Butler had nine points and three rebounds while Rodriguez had six points to go with his nine points.
C.J. White had eight points while
LB Willis and
Noah Starkey each had seven points. Willis had nine rebounds while Starkey had six.

The Storm turned the ball over 15 times, but got 18 points off of 17 ATU turnovers. SNU also got out rebounded 49-43.

SNU trailed by as much as 19 as it was down 43-24 with 16:37 left to play, but
Dartanyon Meggs sparked a 23-6 run capped by a pair of
Anton Kankaanpaa free throws. That cut the lead to 49-47with 7:46 left to play. The Storm cut it to 53-51 with 5:21 to play, but that was as close as they came.Â
