BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene used a 26-point fourth quarter to come from behind and defeat Southwestern Christian 75-69 on Homecoming night.

The Crimson Storm (1-0) trailed the Eagles 50-49 at the end of the third quarter, thanks to a 3-point shot by Taylor Estep with three seconds left. However, SNU used a 13-0 run to begin the final quarter to gain control of the game. The run was sparked by true freshman
Adrienne Berry, who scored 12 points in the final period.

Southern Nazarene came out of the gates well, jumping out to a 12-5 lead thanks to eight quick points by junior
Abby Boyd. However, SNU hit a cold spell the rest of the first half, entering halftime shooting 32.5 percent from the field and just 18.2 percent from 3-point range.

The Crimson Storm came to life in the second half, shooting 62.1 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from long range. The second half was led by Berry and
LaShabra Plunkett, who each scored 15 points after the half.

The SNU defense wreaked havoc on the Eagles all game, forcing 16 turnovers and registering nine blocks on the game as well. The unit held SCU to 38.3 percent shooting on the game, including just 35.3 percent in the second half.

Berry led the team with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting in her SNU debut. She also had eight rebounds as well.
Danielle Gaddis also scored 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting and hauled in 16 rebounds. Plunkett chipped in 15 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks on the evening.Â
