SNU shot 44.8 percent from the field in a 77-70 win over St. Gregory's

BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene shot 44.8 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range en route to a 77-70 victory in an exhibition over St. Gregory's.
 
Danielle Gaddis led the Crimson Storm with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting and hauled in eight rebounds on the night. Chelseah Savage led the Crimson Storm in scoring with 18 points and added six assists. Adrienne Berry led the Southern Nazarene bench with 11 points and six rebounds.
 
SNU charged out of the gates, shooting 53.8 percent in the first quarter while going 3-for-3 from 3-point range. Savage, Berry, and Abby Boyd led the charge, as each scored five points in the opening period. However, the Crimson Storm hit a lull on the offensive end for the next two quarters as it shot just 37.5 percent during the second and third quarters.
 
The Crimson Storm hit their stride in the fourth quarter, scoring 26 points in the final period on 7-of-13 shooting. The game came down to free throws in the final minutes, as Southern Nazarene went 10-for-12 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter. Savage scored nine of her 18 points in the final period, with four coming on free throws in the final two minutes of the game. Ashley Almond also chipped in during the final quarter, hitting four free throws in the final minute to ice the game.
