Storm Fall to Rangers

SNU had 30 turnovers in a 79-57 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State

ALVA, Okla.— Southern Nazarene had a good shooting night as they shot 50 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from the three-point line, but that was negated by 30 turnovers and 26 points off turnovers in a 79-57 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State.
 
Miranda Taylor and Abby Boyd led the Crimson Storm (3-4, 0-3 GAC) with 13 points apiece. Taylor shot 5-for-9 from the field and also grabbed four rebounds. Boyd had three assists and two rebounds. Aminata Fall scored 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds, blocked four shots, and had two steals.
 
Southern Nazarene only attempted 36 shots, but made 18 of them. They shot 6-for-17 from behind the arc and made 68.2 percent of their free throws. The Rangers (2-4, 1-0 GAC) shot 50 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from the three-point line, and 61.5 percent from the foul line.
 
The Crimson Storm kept the game close for much of the first half. They pulled ahead 17-15 at the ten-minute mark with two free throws by Ashleigh Hutchings. That would be their last lead of the game as Northwestern Oklahoma State pulled away with a 25-13 run to close out the half. Boyd scored nine points in the first half and shot 2-for-4 from the three-point line.
 
The Rangers stretched their lead in the second half with an 18-14 run in the first ten minutes of the second half. SNU was unable to cut into the lead the rest of the half as Northwestern Oklahoma State went on an 18-13 run to end the game. Fall scored ten points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked three shots in the second half. Taylor scored seven points and pulled in three rebounds.
