Storm Fall to Bronchos

SNU allowed UCO to shoot 44 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the arc

BETHANY, Okla.— Aminata Fall and Abby Boyd's 43 combined points kept Southern Nazarene in the game, but they could not stop Central Oklahoma from pulling away in its 87-72 defeat.
 
Fall posted her sixth straight double-double this season with 23 points and 13 rebounds. She shot 7-for-17 from the field, 2-for-4 from the three-point line, and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. She also blocked six shots and had two steals. Boyd scored 20 points as she made a career-high six pointers on a career-high 13 attempts. She also had five steals and four assists.
 
The Crimson Storm (3-3) shot 37.3 percent from the field, 44.8 percent from behind the arc, and 81.8 percent from the foul line. The Bronchos shot 44.1 percent from the field, 60.0 percent from the three-point line, and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.
 
The game was pretty even through the early part of the game as the teams were tied 15-15 at the ten-minute mark of the first half. Central Oklahoma (6-2) began to take over the game with a 22-15 run to close out the half, which gave them a 37-30 lead. Fall scored 11 of her 23 points in the first half and also had four blocks. Boyd scored six of her 20 points with three assists and three steals.
 
The Bronchos began the second half with a 32-30 run to extend their lead to 14 points. The Crimson Storm cut into their lead a couple of times, but the closest they got was within nine points at the 14 minute mark and the ten minute mark.  Central Oklahoma closed the game out with a 29-22 run to seal the win. Fall had a double-double in the second half as she scored 12 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Boyd scored 14 points and had two steals. Ashleigh Hutchings shot a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from behind the arc and scored eight points.
 
Fall is now second in school history in blocked shots with 221. She needs 89 to pass Katrina Springer (1988-92) for the school record with 309 blocked shots.
