MAGNOLIA, Ark. — Southern Nazarnee turned the ball over 28 times and struggled from the field shooting just 30 percent in a 63-42 loss at Southern Arkansas in the Great American Conference opener.

The Crimson Storm (2-1, 0-1 GAC) went 15-for-50 from the field and 7-for-26 from 3-point range. SNU also took just nine free throws.

Aminata Fall scored a team-high 16 points and added 12 rebounds and four blocks. She went 6-for-13 from the floor.
Ashleigh Hutchings scored 15 points while going 5-for-13 from 3-point range and 5-for-14 from the floor.
Abby Boyd added seven points as well.

The Muleriders (2-1, 1-0 GAC) had 11 players score points as they hit seven treys on the night in just 15 attempts. SAU outscored SNU 22-12 in the paint and 30-15 off of the bench. Southern Arkansas scored 22 points off of the Storm's turnovers.

The Storm's only lead came just a few minutes into game at 6-2 before SAU used a 12-3 run to lead 14-9. The Storm later tied it on a Hutchings' trey at 14-14, but the Muleriders used a 13-5 run to take a 27-19 lead with 6:19 to play. SNU did cut it to 27-24 with 2:04 left to play on another Hutchings 3-pointer, but SAU answered with eight straight to take a 35-24 lead at the half. SAU used that momentum to run away with it in the second half.
