Southern Nazarene loses third straight, falling 49-7 to Arkansas Tech

Box Score BETHANY, Okla. — Southern Nazarene's bid for its first win of the season and first victory in the Great American Conference will have to wait another week as Arkansas Tech ran away from SNU in 49-7 win.
 
The Crimson Storm (0-3, 0-3 GAC) looked to be battling into the game late in the first quarter when Dylan Terry hit Jarod Martin on a 20-yard strike to put SNU on the board. The touchdown pass completed a 7-play, 77-yard drive and put SNU within a possession of the Wonder Boys (2-1, 2-1 GAC) with 5:17 left in the first.
 
ATU took a 21-7 lead in the second quarter and SNU had a chance to cut it to 21-14 just four minutes into the quarter when the Storm missed its first chance in the red zone all season. Terry threw an interception in the end zone after SNU had a second and five at the ATU 17-yard line.
 
SNU then got two more stops and got a special teams break on a Tech fumble that was recovered by the Storm. Southern Nazarene had a chance to add three points before the half, but Shaun Barnard's field goal went just to the right as the Storm trailed 21-7 at the half.
 
It was all Wonder Boys in the second half as it scored 28 unanswered points to put it away.
 
Terry finished with 165 yards passing and one touchdown after going 15-for-32 in passing attempts. He also threw three interceptions. Jarod Martin and Ryan Mischler both totaled 53 yard receiving as Martin had five catches and Mischler had four. Chris Hunter also rushed for 52 total yards on the night.
 
The Crimson Storm totaled 218 yards of offense with 191 through the air and 27 on the ground. SNU gave up 376 total yards of offense with 277 being passing and 99 rushing.
 
Christo Lisika led the defensive efforts with nine tackles while BJ Smith and Micahel Hicks each had eight. Josh Price had six tackles and a sack.
 
The Crimson Storm now hit the road and will take on Harding, Saturday, at 4 p.m.
