Cordell begins her second season as a graduate assistant.
She graduated from Newcastle High School in 2012, where she was named All State and First Team Little All City. She then graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University Magna Cum Laude with a degree in elementary education in May 2016.
She is currently working on her Graduate Degree in Sports Administration through East Central University with plans to graduate in July 2017.
Cordell was a four-year starting outfield for the Bison and their leading hitter during three of those four years. Cordell holds the record for most hits in a single season at OBU with 75 and she also holds the record for most career doubles with 51. Cordell led the Sooner Athletic Conference in stolen bases in 2015 with 26.
While at OBU, Cordell contributed 224 hits, 14 home runs, and 119 RBI’s, which helped her, earn the honors of First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region twice. She was a Gold Glove selection her sophomore year. She received Champions of Character twice, SAC Scholar Athlete three times and NCCAA Scholar athlete once. Cordell was also an Academic All-American and a member of the GAC All-Academic Team.
Off the field, Cordell was on the junior varsity basketball team for two years, Secretary for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team, and a member of the Mortar Board National Honor Society.
