Kenyada Davis begins his third year as an assistant coach. His primary responsibility is to work with the Sam Linebackers.

Davis comes from Dartmouth where he spent the 2005-08 seasons coaching outside linebackers at Dartmouth (N.H.). He spent the past four years working with the Department of Human services

Davis received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kans., in 2001 and immediately entered the coaching profession as defensive backfield coach at Jamestown College in North Dakota.

He returned to his alma mater, Southwestern College in 2002 where he was defensive backfield coach for two years and director of football operations in 2003. One of his players, Deon Belle, was a first-team Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference selection and third team All-America. Belle tied Southwestern’s records for game and career interceptions and set Moundbuilders’ records for season and career interception return yards.

In 2004, Davis coached outside linebackers and helped to rebuild the pass defense as a graduate assistant at Prairie View A&M University in Texas.

As a defensive back at Southwestern from 1998-2000, Davis played on a pair of KCAC conference championship teams. The Moundbuilders were 9-2 in 1998 and reached the second round of the NAIA playoffs. In 1999, Southwestern was 8-2 and returned to the NAIA playoffs. During his junior year (1999), Davis missed four games with an ankle injury but returned to action for the NAIA playoffs. That effort earned Davis the Bradshaw/Harris Award as the team’s most inspirational player and comeback player-of-the-year.

Davis comes back to his native state after graduating from Douglass High School in Oklahoma City in 1993. Davis lives in Oklahoma City with his son Kenyada Jr.
