Josh Stansell enters his first season with the Crimson Storm as the Defensive Backs Coach in 2025.
Josh comes to Southern Nazarene after a four-year stint as the defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator at Culver-Stockton College. He later added the title of special teams coordinator in 2024. In his time with the Wildcats Stansell coached 10 all-conference players, including five first-team selections. He also led a pass defense that allowed just one passing touchdown in five conference games in the 2021 season, setting a school record for wins while finishing the season ranked No. 22 in the country. In 2023, the Culver-Stockton secondary was a top-five passing dense in their respective conference. In 2024, his special teams unit totaled five blocked kicks during the season.
As a player, Stansell attended Hastings College (Neb.), where he graduated in 2020 with his Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration and Coaching. In his time with the Broncos, he was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter, appearing in 36 games as both a cornerback and safety.
Prior to his time at Hastings, Josh was named an all-district and all-metro defensive back at Baton Rouge (La.) Parkview Baptist High School where he also won a State Championship in 2012.
