Indy Siehndel will be entering his fourth season as defensive coordinator and eighth overall on staff in 2025.
Siehndel led the 2024 Crimson Storm defensive unit to multiple accolades and improvements. Linebacker Carter Brock, who finished third in the GAC in tackles with 95 total for the season, earned All-GAC Third Team Honors. Defensive End David Omosigho earned All-GAC Third Team accolades, leading the team in multiple defensive categories. Inside Linebacker Emmanuel Obinna finished eighth in the conference with 11 tackles for loss. The biggest win in program history came on Halloween night, with SNU going into Arkadelphia and beating No. 3 Ouachita Baptist on the road, 18-17. This was Ouachita’s lowest scoring output of the season.
In 2023, he helped SNU record its first ever winning season in the NCAA Division II era, finishing the regular season at 6-5. SNU garnered a spot in The Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl for its first ever postseason appearance. Defensively, Siehndel’s squad finished second in the GAC in both 3rd Down Defense (35%) and Red Zone Defense. The Storm also ranked third in the GAC in interceptions (12).
The 2022 season saw the Crimson Storm finish in the top half of the Great American Conference for the first time in history. Defensively, SNU ranked second in the GAC in interceptions (12), while also finishing in the top half of the conference in opponent QB completion percentage. Elijah Calhoun (Second Team) and Josh Johnson (Honorable Mention) were both voted All-GAC. The Storm ranked second in the GAC in team penalty yards (21st nationally).
The 2021 spring season featured four games for the Crimson Storm. The defensive secondary allowed just 130.5 passing yards per contest. SNU also improved in opponent completion percentage. Opposing quarterbacks completed just 38% of their passes.
During the 2019 season, Siehndel worked with the SNU cornerbacks. The Storm finished the 2019 season ranked seventh nationally in pass defense, while leading the Great American Conference in the same category. SNU allowed just 144 yards per game.
The 2018 season also produced one of the top secondaries in the country. The Storm ranked 16th nationally in pass defense; allowing 166 yards per game. They accounted for 14 interceptions (30th nationally) and 34 pass break-ups.
In 2017, Siehndel tutored the SNU safeties. He coached Josh Jordan to All-GAC Second Team honors. The Storm tallied 13 interceptions on the year, along with 31 pass break-ups.
Prior to SNU, Siehndel spent three seasons as the defensive backs coach at Park Hill South High School in Kansas City, Missouri. During his time at South, he helped lead the Panthers to a Suburban Red Conference championship, along with the 2016 Class 5, District 7 title. The Panthers advanced to the Missouri State quarterfinals.
During his time at Park Hill South, he helped produce two all-state honoree safeties. Siehndel also assisted as a coach for summer strength and conditioning, as well as with the powerlifting team. The 2017 Powerlifting Team placed third at the Missouri State High School meet in Springfield, Missouri.
Siehndel attended William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri. He was a four-year letter-winner at defensive back for the Cardinals. While at Jewell, he finished ninth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in pass break-ups, while ranking third on the team in both break-ups and passes defended as a senior.
Before William Jewell, he was an all-conference selection in both basketball and football at Park Hill South High School.
A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Siehndel earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from William Jewell in 2014, and a master’s degree in Administration of Special Education from Southern Nazarene University in 2019.
