Eric Michael will begin his second season as the Offensive Coordinator for the Crimson Storm. Michael served on Mike Cochran’s staff for one season as running backs coach in 2007 and will also handle the recruiting duties as well as oversee the film coordination.

Michael comes to SNU from Westmoore High School, where he coached the quarterbacks in 2008.

Michael is a 1999 graduate of Ponca City High School, where he was an all-state honorable mention and an all-district first team quarterback. Michael holds Ponca City school records for career touchdown passes and single game touchdown passes.

Upon graduation from Ponca City, Michael enrolled at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., where he was a three-year varsity quarterback, earning all-conference honors twice and was named Offensive Back of the Year in 2000. Michael still holds passing records at Southwestern.

Michael transferred from Southwestern to MidAmerica Nazarene where he was a member of MidAmerica’s NAIA quarterfinalist team.

Michael received his undergraduate degree from Central Oklahoma in 2005 and earned a master’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 2006.

Michael began his coaching career at Norman North High School in 2003, where he coached the tight ends and defensive backs. Michael then moved on to Brookshire-Royal High School in Brookshire, Texas, where he was passing coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2005.

In 2006, Michael moved to the college ranks, where he took the linebackers coaching position at Sam Houston State for one season before coming to Southern Nazarene in 2007 as running backs coach.

Michael stayed at SNU for one season, before heading back to the high school level to coach quarterbacks at Westmoore High School.

Eric and his wife, Kendra, reside in Moore with their daughter, Lydia.
