Southern Nazarene University Athletics

Clay Rhodes begins his ninth season as an assistant coach for the Southern Nazarene. He oversees the development of the offensive line and is the run game coordinator. He also serves over equipment, film coordination is a special teams assistant and assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Rhodes is a native of Olathe, Kansas, where he attended Olathe North High School, graduating in 2002. At Olathe North, Rhodes was an all-state defensive lineman in Class 6A and helped lead Olathe North to two state championships. Rhodes was also an All-Sunflower League selection at offensive guard and defensive line.

After graduating from Olathe North, Rhodes went on to attend MidAmerica Nazarene University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in sports management. Rhodes played football for Cochran at MNU, starting for four years on the defensive line. Rhodes helped lead the Pioneers to two Heart of America Conference Championships and three NAIA playoff appearances.

Rhodes and his wife Kara reside in Yukon.
