Cedric Jones begins his 10th season as an assistant coach for centers/guards.
Jones is a 1992 graduate of Lamar High in Houston, Texas where he was an All-American selection. At Lamar, Jones earned the Houston Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Year award and was a two-time District Defensive Player of the Year selection. He also was a two-time First Team All-District honoree.
After graduating from Lamar, Jones enrolled at the University of Oklahoma where he played from 1992-95, earning his degree in Liberal Arts Studies. At OU, Jones was a 1995 All-American and a two-time All-BIG 8 First Team selection. Jones finished his career as OU’s all-time career sacks leader and held records for single season sacks and single game sacks.
After graduating from Oklahoma, Jones played in the NFL for the New York Giants from 1996-2000 and the St. Louis Rams from 2000-01.
Jones began his coaching career in 2005, serving as defensive and offensive line coach for Montclair Prep High in Los Angeles. In 2008, Jones headed back to the NFL, serving for one year with Carolina Panthers as a defensive line coach. Jones and his wife Susi reside in Norman with their three children: Cailey, Cameron, and Cash.
