Robert Lee was named Head Coach of Southern Nazarene's baseball program, June 14, 2011, after spending seven years as an assistant coach working with the Crimson Storm's pitching staff.
Lee begins his eighth season at the helm and coming into the 2019 season.
He led SNU to a 20-25 record in its first year as a member of the Great American Conference. Lee led the Storm to a 20-30 finish in the 2012 season and a Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament appearance. The 2015 season was the first year of GAC and NCAA Division II postseason eligibility.Â
Under the tutelage of Lee, four pitchers have gone on to play professionally while two have been drafted. He has also coached three NAIA All-Americans and one Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year; all on the SNU pitching staff.
Lee began his coaching career in the Edmond Public School system as varsity assistant for eight years and then as a Head Coach for two years at Edmond Memorial High School.
Following his work in Edmond, Lee was hired by former SNU Head Coach Scott Selby to oversee the pitching staff.
During his playing career, Lee pitched one year at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas and one year at York College in York, Nebraska. Lee finished his career at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond.
While at OC, Lee helped guide his team to a District Nine Championship and a berth in the District Nine tournament.
A graduate of Satanta (Kan.) High School; Lee was a three-year letterman in football, basketball, and track. Lee then earned a bachelor's in science education at Oklahoma Christian in 1993 and is currently pursuing his master's at SNU.Â
Lee is married to the former Cynthia Clonts from Blackwell, Oklahoma, and they have three children, Cole, Chanley, and Hunter.
