·   Prepped four varsity seasons at Gruver (Texas) High School where he graduated in 2015
·   Was a three-time All-District First Team choice at offensive line and twice at defensive line
·   Selected All-District Second Team at defensive as a freshman and senior
·   Named to the AGN Media Class 2A Golden Spread Football Team
·   Helped the Greyhounds to four straight District Championships and a bi-district title as a senior
·   Named to the Super Team as a senior
·   Was a three-time Academic All-District honoree
·   Played basketball and baseball three years as well
