BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Men's Soccer defended their home field with a 1-0 win over West Texas A&M on Saturday evening, moving to 2-1 on the season.

West Texas A&M (1-3-0) came out with heavy pressure in the first half. The Buffaloes fired eight shots in the opening 45, led by D'Jonte Davis who put two looks on frame. The Crimson Storm (2-1-0) answered with chances from Henry Boldt, Ryunosuke Noda, and Wesley Rodriguez, but both keepers stood tall as the match went into halftime scoreless at 0-0.
SNU kept pressing after the break. Diego Zamora and Wesley Rodriguez added shots on target, while Essien Behn and Francisco Chong created chances in the midfield. On the other end, Aimar Aramendia came up with key saves in the second half to keep the Buffaloes off the board as WT continued to push with four more shots and four corner kicks.
The breakthrough came late. Ryunosuke Noda found Pedro Belmont for the lone goal of the match in the 88th minute, giving the Crimson Storm a 1-0 lead. Belmont's finish was his first of the season and was SNU's fourth shot on goal of the night.
SNU finished with 10 shots, 4 on goal, to WT's 12 shots, 3 on goal. Aramendia secured the shutout in goal for SNU with three saves, while Bryce Cottle also made three saves for the Buffaloes.

The win gives Southern Nazarene its first victory at home this season.
