SNU Holds Off Oklahoma Christian for 2-1 Victory in Edmond

Men's Soccer secure win over the Eagles

EDMOND, Okla. - Southern Nazarene edged Oklahoma Christian 2-1 on the road Saturday night in Edmond.

The Crimson Storm (3-2) got on the board in the 19th minute when Diego Zamora found the back of the net for his first goal of the season to make it 1-0.
 

The Eagles (3-3) answered in the 34th minute as Tyler Ackah-Wheatcroft evened the match off an assist from Igor Caballero to make it 1-1.


Southern Nazarene responded just before the break. Rohan Suresh delivered the eventual game-winner in the 45th minute, assisted by Ryunosuke Noda, to put SNU back in front 2-1 heading into halftime. The goal marked the first career goal for Suresh.


Despite being outshot 15-9 on the night, including 8-4 in the opening half, the Crimson Storm put 3 shots on frame and converted two of them. Aimar Aramendia posted 2 saves, while Oklahoma Christian made 1 save.
