BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Men's Rugby opened 2026 with a home sweep taking two games over Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon.

Game 1

Texas A&M struck first after charging down a clearance for an unconverted try. After two straight Aggie penalties, debutant winger Dag Dowuona scored in the corner to put SNU up 7-5 on Danny Heller's conversion.

A&M answered off the kickoff to lead 10-7, then extended it to 15-7 off a scrum set play.

Senior center Ian Evans cut the deficit to 15-12 just before halftime, racing past three tacklers to score in the corner.

SNU dominated the second half. Heller tied it at 15-15 with a penalty goal, then converted Elijah Segovia's try under the posts off a perfect feed from halfback Hlanga Mabele. Heller added another penalty to make it 25-15 before substitute Dane Wendorff iced it off a scrum play. Heller finished 4-for-6 on conversions and 2-for-2 on penalties. The Storm held on to take game one 32-15 over the Aggies.

Game 2

The lopsided score was more about SNU's depth than any weakness from Texas A&M. The speed and physicality of SNU Black, with 9 debutants, overpowered a tough Aggie side.

Freshman Uzoma Ncgwangu led with 28 points on two tries and 9-for-11 conversions. Winger James Robertson added two tries and nearly had a hat trick, with a third called back for a forward pass.

Daniel Zaragoza, Triston McKay, and debutant Karter Lorick scored in the forwards, while debutants Jack Sipniewski, Taylor Truelove, and DeShawn Tate, plus returners Luis Camacho and Hunter Baugher, all crossed for SNU.

Texas A&M Grey kept fighting until the end and was rewarded with the final try of the match, but SNU cruised to a commanding 78-7 victory.
