Southern Nazarene Cruises to Win Over Missouri S&T

Southern Nazarene dominates with an 84-5 victory in a commanding team performance

ROLLA, Mo. - Southern Nazarene put on a scoring clinic in Rolla, overwhelming Missouri S&T 84-5 in a dominant showing at the Miners' home field.

The Crimson Storm wasted no time taking control, pressing deep in the Miners' half before Ian Evans dove over in the corner after Luis Camacho drew three defenders and offloaded. SNU's physical play and strong possession set the tone early. A scrum steal on the S&T goal line allowed James Robertson to score acrobatically in the corner, converted by Thomas Wilson, followed quickly by Connor Malau'ulu charging 50 meters under the posts converted by Wilson.

Freshman fullback Daniel Heller added a try converted by Wilson before Missouri S&T's captain answered with an 80-meter solo score. The Crimson Storm responded immediately, with Connor Kelly powering over from close range, and Robertson again finishing in the corner to end the first half 38-5.

Fresh legs in the second half kept the pressure on. Winger Alexzander Johnson jinked through multiple tackles to score, converted by Juan Cruz Stefanich, then set up Evans for his second try following a clever kick-chase play. Evans returned the favor, assisting Stefanich on a 60-meter breakout run to the corner. Stefanich later helped set up flanker Seth Van Heerden with smart work from senior scrumhalf Jacob Robertson.

Freshman Joseph Zaragoza barreled over from a pick-and-go that was converted by Heller, before Heller completed his double off a flowing backline move converted by Stefanich. Robertson finished with a hat trick in the far corner, and debutant Beckham McGill crashed over on the final play to round out the scoring.

The Crimson Storm showed off their speed and strength all game and kept the pressure up, securing the win and cruising to an 84-5 victory over Missouri S&T.
