CLAREMORE, Okla. - Southern Nazarene picked up its first win of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, edging McKendree 2-1 in Claremore.

The Crimson Storm (1-1-0) got on the board early in the 20th minute when Wesley Rodriguez found the back of the net to make it 1-0. SNU controlled much of the opening half, out shooting the Bearcats (0-2-0) 9-7 and taking a 1-0 lead into the break.

McKendree answered after halftime as Stevie Jones evened the match in the 62nd minute off assists from Lenny Dupouyet and Alonso Romero to make it 1-1.

Southern Nazarene responded late. Rodriguez struck again in the 81st minute for his second of the day, delivering the eventual game-winner to put SNU back in front 2-1.

The Crimson Storm finished the afternoon with 18 total shots, putting 5 on frame, while holding McKendree to 17 shots and 6 on goal. SNU goalkeepers combined for 5 saves on the defensive end, while the Bearcats made 3.
