BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Athletics has announced a transition in leadership for the SNU Men's and Women's Golf programs as the department moves into a new chapter for Crimson Storm golf.

During Derrick Taylor's 14-year tenure with the Crimson Storm, he coached 19 all-conference honorees while helping both programs compete within the Great American Conference. Taylor also mentored two-time Great American Conference Player of the Year and two-time All-American Michael Hearne during his time in Bethany.

Under Taylor's leadership, the women's program recorded four top-five finishes at the GAC Championships, while the men's squad earned three top-five finishes at the conference championship tournament.

Coach Taylor was instrumental in helping the SNU Golf program build the Steve Hulsey Golf Facility, allowing student-athletes to hone their game at a facility that is all their own.  He also worked tirelessly to help raise extra funds so the program could purchase its own transportation to travel to tournaments. 

"Coach Taylor has worked so hard to help the SNU Golf program have resources to drive success, and I will always be appreciative of his impact here," said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Danny Thomason. 

The search for the next head SNU Men's and Women's Golf Coach will begin immediately.
