RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- Southern Nazarene leaned on efficient shooting and a big night from Baron Bracey to earn a 77–70 road win over Arkansas Tech on Wednesday evening in Russellville.
The Storm (16-4, 10-4 GAC) set the tone early, jumping out to a quick lead behind hot shooting from the perimeter. SNU connected on five three-pointers in the opening half and shot 50 percent from the floor, building a 39–26 advantage at the break. Arkansas Tech (7-13, 5-9 GAC) struggled to find rhythm early, while the Storm offense moved the ball well and capitalized on transition opportunities to control the pace.
Arkansas Tech made a push after halftime, outscoring SNU 44-38 in the second half and cutting the deficit to single digits late. The Wonder Boys shot over 76 percent from the floor after the break, but Southern Nazarene answered each run with timely buckets and consistent free-throw shooting to keep control down the stretch.
Bracey led all scorers with a career-high 25 points, knocking down 8-of-10 shots from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range, while also adding six rebounds. Malik Edwards added 13 points, and Aaron Potter provided a spark off the bench with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Joe Mpoyo chipped in nine points, two assists, and two steals, while James Burries pulled down five rebounds to help the Storm inside.
Southern Nazarene finished the night shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc, while also scoring 21 bench points and 14 fast-break points.
