Crimson Storm Drop Series to Southeastern Oklahoma State

Crimson Storm fight back in both games but fall 21-8 and 16-13 at home

BETHANY, Okla. - The Crimson Storm wrapped up their series at home on Saturday, dropping both games to Southeastern Oklahoma State as the Savage Storm completed the sweep.

Game 1 
Southern Nazarene (4-14, 0-9 GAC) fell 21-8 in the first game of the day as Southeastern Oklahoma State (11-5, 7-2 GAC) used a powerful offensive performance to pull away.

The Savage Storm struck early with three runs in the opening inning, but SNU answered in the bottom half. Braden Pingel delivered a two run single to cut the deficit to 3-2 and keep the Storm within striking distance. 

Southeastern Oklahoma continued to apply pressure with multi-run innings in the second, third, and fourth, building an 11-4 lead. Josh Bay provided a spark for Southern Nazarene with a two-run home run in the third to keep the Crimson Storm in the fight. 

The Savage Storm broke the game open in the fifth with an eight-run inning to extend the advantage to 19-4. Southern Nazarene responded with a three-run sixth inning highlighted by a solo home run from Dominic Garcia and RBI hits from Ryder Scheibelhut and Bay, put the comeback effort fell short. 

Bay led the Storm offensively with three hits and three RBIs, while Scheibelhut added two hits in the loss. 

Game 2 
In the series finale, Southern Nazarene battled in a high-scoring contest but came up short, falling 16-13.

The Savage Storm scored in each of the first three innings to take an early lead, but SNU answered in the fourth with a massive nine-run inning. The rally featured RBIs from Bay, Kane Springer, and Cade Ross, along with a two-run home run from Trevyn Stewart that gave the Crimson Storm an 11-8 advantage. 
Southeastern Oklahoma responded immediately, tying the game in the fifth on a two-run homer before regaining the lead with two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. 

Southern Nazarene continued to fight, getting a solo home run from Aiden McCullough in the sixth to pull within one, but the Storm were unable to complete the comeback in the final inning. 

Bay paced the offense with five hits and four RBIs, while Ross added three hits and two RBIs in the narrow defeat. 

Next Up
Southern Nazarene will look to bounce back as they travel to Weatherford, Oklahoma to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State the two teams are set to play a single game on Friday, March 6 at 2:00 pm and a doubleheader on Saturday, March 7 starting at 12:00 pm.
