SNU Earns 3-0 Shutout at Newman

Bella Morgas nets two second-half goals as Southern Nazarene shuts out Newman in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. -Southern Nazarene Women's Soccer hit the road on Saturday afternoon and picked up a 3-0 win over Newman University.

The first half saw plenty of chances from both Southern Nazarene (2-3-2-1, 0-0-0 GAC) and Newman (1-4-1, 0-0-0 MIAA) but neither team could find the back of the net. SNU's Avery Pyle, Ella Adams, and Danika Womack each had looks at the goal, while Gracie Garner also pushed one just wide.

On the other end, goalkeeper Gianna Bonnett came up with a key save on a low shot from Newman's Kaylyn Truong to keep things scoreless heading into halftime.

The Crimson Storm broke through early in the second half when Bella Morgas fired a low shot into the right side of the net to give SNU a 1-0 lead. Morgas struck again just minutes later, this time off an assist from Gabriella Ponce, doubling the advantage to 2-0.

The Storm kept pressing, and Adison Johnson sealed the match with a strike to the bottom right corner, stretching the lead to 3-0. Bonnett finished the day with multiple saves, keeping the Jets off the board and locking in the shutout.
