BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene Men's Soccer played to a 2-2 draw against Midwestern State on Saturday evening at Wes Harmon Field. The Crimson Storm battled back from a two goal deficit.
Midwestern State (2-1-3, 0-0-0 LSC) struck first in the first half, converting a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Both teams had several chances in the opening 45 minutes, but saves from SNU (2-1-1, 0-0-0 GAC) goalkeeper Aimar Aramendia and MSU's Daniel Robles, kept the game competitive and tense.
The second half saw SNU push aggressively to close the gap. Tiago Moreira found the back of the net with an assist from Lucas Beja to make it 2-1 with 12 minutes remaining. Then, with five minutes left, Beja scored, this time assisted by Baptiste Auvray, tying the match at 2-2. Both teams had late opportunities, but Aramendia and Robles made key saves to preserve the draw.
