Crimson Storm Shutout Ouachita Baptist in GAC Opener

Southern Nazarene cruises to 4-0 victory behind strong first-half goals and second-half finishes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -Southern Nazarene traveled to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist in their first Great American Conference match of the season, cruising to a 4-0 victory.

The Crimson Storm (3-2-1, 1-0 GAC) came out firing in the first half, testing the Tigers defense early. Lucas Beja had a shot sail just over the top of the goal, and Mourad Siaka nearly added another as his effort went off the left post. Ouachita Baptist's (1-3-2, 0-1 GAC) Eddie Uribe also threatened for the home side, but his attempt went over the top.

Southern Nazarene struck first with six minutes left in the half as Luis Urquiza found the back of the net to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Just a few minutes later, Kaden Slaven doubled the advantage, assisted by Mourad Siaka, putting the Crimson Storm ahead 2-0 going into halftime. Adnan Boulaghmal also tested the keeper before the break, keeping up the pressure.

The Crimson Storm came out strong in the second half, keeping up the intensity. Boulaghmal again had a chance early, before Slaven netted his second of the match with an assist from Dylan Roberts to push the lead to 3-0 just two minutes into the half. Pedro Arbizu had a shot go over the top, but Bekir Lekic sealed the night with a goal in the final two minutes, securing a 4-0 win for Southern Nazarene.
