BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene University Esports is celebrating a major achievement as eight of its student-athletes have been recognized as National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Americans for their outstanding performance both in competition and the classroom for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This year's honorees include Gage Miller, Derrek Bley, Dezmond Williams, Thomas Bley, Jed Huibregtse, Zane Wright, Kam Van Prooyen, and Landon Brant
The NECC's Academic All-Conference selections recognize the outstanding academic achievements of the conference's student-athletes. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher.
"This honor reflects the hard work these players put in every day—not only in practice and competition, but also in the classroom," said Chris Kyzer, Esports Faculty Sponsor. "We are proud to see them represent both our program and university at such a high level."Â
This recognition highlights SNU Esports' commitment to developing student-athletes who excel academically while competing at the highest levels of collegiate esports. It also reflects the broader mission of Southern Nazarene University—to equip students for lives of service, leadership, and excellence both on campus and beyond.
