Women's Golf Competes at Mystic Creek

SNU Women's Golf competes in Arkansas Collegiate Invitational at Mystic Creek Golf Course

EL DORADO, Ark.—Southern Nazarene Women's Golf traveled to Arkansas March 10-11 to compete in their second tournament of the spring. The Crimson Storm placed 10th at the Arkansas Collegiate, hosted by Southern Arkansas at the Mystic Creek Golf Club.

Southern Nazarene was paced by sophomore Haley Whittern. Whittern vaulted up the leaderboard in round two. She followed an 82 (+10) in round one with a 78 (+6) in round two to finish +16 and just outside of the top-10 at T-11.

Riley Rinner had a solid round one, shooting an 80 (+8) and collected four birdies. Her six total birdies tied for the tournament lead. She finished with a two round score of 169 (+25) to place 37th on the leaderboard.

Natalie Lewis and Esther Santos tied for 51st for the tournament at +52. Lewis followed a 95 in round one with a 101 in round two, while Santos shot a 102 in round one and improved to a 94 in round two.

Darci DeWitt rounded out the Storm lineup, finishing 53rd in the field.

Henderson State won the tournament at +38 as a team. They finished with three players inside the top-four, including Felisa Sajulga, who tied with Harding's Sarah Kmiecik for the individual championship.

Southern Nazarene will be back in Arkansas in two weeks for the Hardscrabble Invitational in Fort Smith. This will be a good opportunity for the Crimson Storm to feel out the course that will host the Great American Conference Championships April 21-23.
