Storm Take Down OBU 73-58

SNU powers past the Tigers in Arkadelphia for a convincing road win

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Southern Nazarene hit the road for a showdown with Ouachita Baptist, looking to bounce back from last week's loss to East Central. The Storm brought the energy, taking down the Tigers 73-58.

The Crimson Storm (19-6, 16-3 GAC) got things started early with a three from Jena Bay, but OBU ( 9-14, 5-14 GAC) answered right back with a bucket of their own. Carley Gasaway tipped one in and then knocked down a three off a pass from Jillian Crawford. The Tigers hung around, but Katie King hit a three to keep SNU in front. Bay added a late layup, and the Storm finished the first quarter up 15-12.

Hannah Giddey knocked down a jumper to start the second quarter, but Ouachita Baptist wasn't going away. SNU kept the pressure on as Crawford drained a three off a Braci Nyberg assist and Hannah Duncan followed with another deep shot thanks to an assist from Giddey. The Tigers tried to slow things down, but Nyberg hit another three, and Giddey stayed strong in the paint, helping the Storm take a 36-23 lead into halftime.

Going into the third quarter Ouachita Baptist tried to fight back, but the Crimson Storm had answers. Gasaway hit another three, Bay scored inside, and Giddey continued to dominate the paint to hold the momentum. The Storm held firm with a 49-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

King got the final quarter going with a three off a Crawford assist, and Giddey took over in the paint with back to back layups. Ouachita Baptist knocked down a few shots, but Southern Nazarene had an answer every time. Giddey added another jumper, and King sealed the deal with another three off a Nyberg assist, locking in the 73-58 win.
