Crimson Storm Falls to Tigers

SNU Falls to ECU in a defensive battle, marking their first home conference lost since 2022

Box Score BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene fought hard against East Central but couldn't complete the comeback, falling 44-38 at the Sawyer Center. This marked the first time the Crimson Storm have lost a conference game at home since 2022.

The Tigers (9-13, 7-11 GAC) got rolling early, taking a 12-8 lead after the first quarter despite some big shots from SNU (18-6, 15-3 GAC) Carley Gasaway, who drained two threes, and a layup from Katie King.

SNU kept battling in the second quarter as King opened things up with another layup. Jena Bay then knocked down a three before adding another bucket in the paint.
Hannah Duncan's three kept the Storm within reach, but ECU held on to a 24-19 lead at halftime.

The Storm found their rhythm in the third as Bay knocked down a three, King hit a jumper, and Hannah Giddey scored twice inside. A deep three from King cut the deficit to just two heading into the fourth quarter, with East Central up 34-32.

SNU tied things up at 38-38 late in the game after buckets from Bay, Giddey, and Duncan but ECU responded down the stretch to pull away for the win, 44-38.
