Crimson Storm Shut Out East Central

Morgas hat trick powers SNU to a 4-0 home win Saturday night

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene dominated Saturday evening at Wes Harmon Field, shutting out East Central 4-0 behind a hat trick from Bella Morgas.

The Crimson Storm (6-8-2, 4-5-1 GAC) came out firing early, putting pressure on the Tigers (1-12-4, 1-6-4 GAC) from the start. Ella Adams and Sam Smith each got off early looks before Morgas broke through with the opening goal to put SNU up 1-0. Moments later, Gabriella Ponce and Adams each tested the keeper again before Morgas struck for her second goal of the half, extending the lead to 2-0 as the Crimson Storm took control heading into the break.

In the second half, Southern Nazarene kept the momentum rolling. Adams had another shot saved before Morgas completed her hat trick off an assist from Ponce, pushing the lead to 3-0. Just a minute later, Ponce got on the board herself with a goal assisted by Adison Johnson to make it 4-0.
Goalkeeper Gianna Bonnett helped preserve the shutout with a key save on ECU's Madison Martinez, while the Storm defense held strong to secure the 4-0 win.
