Ft. Worth, Texas – The Southern Nazarene University Men's and Women's Bowling Teams turned in strong performances at the SWIBC III and IV events held November 8–9 at Cityview Lanes in Ft. Worth, Texas. Competing against some of the region's top collegiate programs, the Crimson Storm brought home impressive results across both days of competition.
On Saturday's SWIBC III, the SNU Women's Team finished second overall, just behind Texas A&M. Freshmen Mae Bishop and Callie Vargas earned All-Tournament Team honors, with Bishop leading the field by averaging 197.5 over four games and Vargas averaging 187.25.
The SNU Men's Team also claimed a second-place finish on Saturday, finishing just 22 pins behind the University of Texas at San Antonio. SNU and UTSA were the only two programs to average over 1,000 pins per team game, setting the stage for a strong Sunday showing.
That momentum carried into Sunday's SWIBC IV, where the Crimson Storm completed a sweep of both divisions.
The SNU Women's Team captured the championship, led by standout performances from freshmen Kambry Collins and Mae Bishop, both earning All-Tournament Team honors. Collins averaged 189.5 for six games, while Bishop continued her stellar weekend with an 185.83 average.
The SNU Men's Team surged to victory with a commanding 190-pin margin over Texas A&M, averaging 1,056 pins per game across six games. Freshman Riley Speer led the entire field with a 238.7 average, earning All-Tournament Team honors. Junior Brandon Handog also earned All-Tournament recognition with a 225.3 average, while sophomore Landon McConnell placed 7th overall at 215 per game.
Currently ranked #23 in the nation, the Crimson Storm Men's Team is expected to move up in the rankings following their 2nd and 1st place finishes in Texas.
Next up, the Men's Team will travel to Illinois in two weeks to compete in the prestigious McKendree Tier I event, while the Women's Team will return to action following the holiday break.
