Storm Dominate in Ada with 4-0 Win Over East Central

Gabriella Ponce scores twice as Southern Nazarene cruises to its first GAC victory of the season

ADA, Okla. - Southern Nazarene rolled past East Central on Wednesday afternoon, taking a dominant 4-0 win on the road.

The Crimson Storm (3-7-1, 1-4 GAC) wasted no time getting on the board, as just one minute into the match, Gabriella Ponce scored off an assist from Bella Morgas to put SNU up 1-0. The Storm kept the pressure on with several more looks from Morgas and Samantha Most, but ECU's (0-10-1, 0-4-1 GAC) keeper held firm early.

Ponce struck again later in the half, finding the back of the net for her second goal of the game to extend the lead to 2-0. Danika Womack also had a close chance as the Crimson Storm went into halftime on top.

Two minutes into the second half, SNU picked up right where they left off. Morgas netted a goal of her own off assists from Shianne Stringer and Kaira Boah to make it 3-0. Not long after, Ella Adams added another, scoring off a setup from JQ Molgaard to push the lead to 4-0.

The Crimson Storm continued to attack late, firing off a few more shots but comfortably holding on for the 4-0 shutout victory in Ada.
